February 2010 Brunch - Victor Gao

Sun Feb 28, 2010 11:15 AM

The Yale Club of Beijing Invites You to Brunch

“The Eagle and the Dragon:

Clashing Interests and Common Concerns”

Victor Gao

Director, China National Association of International Studies

Executive Director, Beijing Private Equity Association

11:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010

China-US relations have apparently entered turbulent waters in recent months.  Late last year saw increasing trade tensions in the form of a tit-for-tat tariff war as economic fortunes diverged for the two countries, and more recently, there has been the alleged coordinated hacking of Google by two Chinese universities, an arms sale to Taiwan, and a meeting between President Obama and the Dalai Lama just last week.

Having served in the Chinese Foreign Service and worked extensively in the finance industry, Victor Gao is uniquely positioned to view the current situation through the eyes of both a statesman and a professional.
